“CHRIST THE ROCK”
Annual Women of Bethany Salad Supper
September 26, 2019 at 5:00 pm
A treat for the women…the men will be in the kitchen.
Bring your favorite salad; dessert will be provided. A “count” sheet will soon be available in the narthex; please sign up and also include any guests you may be enjoying this evening with.
You will begin to see rocks accumulating in a basket in the narthex. I hope you will bring one of a similar size, you may put your initials (very small) on one side and place it in the basket provided. We will be using the rocks during our time together on Sept. 26th.
“And he (David) said: The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer” 2 Samuel 22:2
We have agreed to be a support congregation for Family Promise of Cowlitz County. This means we will be working with Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Rose Valley Friends Church, and Renewal City Church to provide a hand-up to families who are experiencing homelessness. Our hosting dates are Sept 29-Oct 6, Oct 13-20, Nov 24-Dec 1. We are asking for you to volunteer your time, gifts, and funds to help provide a reasonable stay for the families. If you would like to help, or would like more information about Family Promise, contact Greg Filer in person or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you all for all that you do.
Oktoberfest & Silent Auction
This fall we be having another Octoberfest on October 19. As part of our event, we will be hosting a silent auction. We hope to include some wonderful donations as well as some themed baskets as part of our silent auction. Examples of themed baskets might be a “movie night” basket with movie tickets, candy, and popcorn; “spa day” basket with soaps, lotions, and face masks; “game night” basket with cards, a board game, etc. If you would be interested in donating items or sponsoring a basket, please contact Carol Lane at church or 360-431-3564 or Barb Wilson. Thank you.
Our walking group meets the first and third Wednesday of the month at 2:30 pm. We leave from Bethany and get outside for some light physical activity, and sometimes a light workout. A great way to exercise and get a little fellowship at the same time. Contact Pastor Megan for more information.
Our Breakfast Group meet Tuesday mornings at 8:00am at The Elks, 900 Ash Street in Kelso. You need not be an Elk’s member to attend and if you arrive before 8, you get free coffee. Women are encouraged to attend. Need more info? Contact Bill Zimmerman or Roger Lee.
