What’s Happening at Bethany:
Upcoming Events & Activities
You are invited to come and enjoy the festivities, enter your chili in the first ever…CHILI COOKOFF Competition at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Castle Rock, Sunday February 23rd at 12 Noon. Pastor Norm Arnold cordially invites all comers to attempt their dethroning of the World’s Best Chili which Pastor Norm claims to make.
No “canned” chili is permitted and will result in an instant disqualification. Only your homemade chili can be entered…beans or no beans. Recognition will be provided to largest batch, hottest, furthest traveled, and best overall.
Join the fun and friendly competition. This is an opportunity for our conference of ELCA churches to gather and have fun, socialize and provide donations to St. Paul Youth (who will supply the cornbread). Come one, come all…

Emergency Support Shelter Breakfast
The Emergency Support Shelter has a wonderful breakfast to report their current work and give us an update on their accomplishments this year. It is a wonderful opportunity to hear heartwarming stories of women and children who have climbed out of difficult circumstances. If you are interested in attending this free breakfast on Wednesday, March 25th at 7:00a.m. at the Expo Center, please let Barbara Clausen know as she will have a table for eight. An envelope will be available for donations at the table. Please contact Barbara Clausen at 206.669.2014 or email@example.com . Cannot attend? Donations may be given to deliver at the breakfast. Sign up now!
Our walking group meets the first and third Wednesday of the month at 2:30 pm. We leave from Bethany and get outside for some light physical activity, and sometimes a light workout. A great way to exercise and get a little fellowship at the same time. Contact Pastor Megan for more information.
Our Breakfast Group meet Tuesday mornings at 8:00am at The Elks, 900 Ash Street in Kelso. You need not be an Elk’s member to attend and if you arrive before 8, you get free coffee. Women are encouraged to attend. Need more info? Contact Bill Zimmerman or Roger Lee.
