Sharing the Bounty with Families
As we show our gratefulness for what the Lord has given us, please consider making a donation of food or money to the Youth/Service committee for our Thanksgiving baskets for the two Catlin and Columbia Heights school families. (As you know, we get the family names from the school principals and ask for two large families are in the most need of food for this holiday.) The Youth/Service Committee gathers the donations and delivers the baskets. (Note: If you are making a financial donation, please mark it “Youth/Service” and it will be used to purchase turkeys, pies, etc.)
A Place Where People Care
Lay Pastoral Care Training: November 28th @ 5pm
We are looking for additional ways to bolster that caring ministry with one another. Working alongside Pastor, an important part of care ministry is reaching out to members and friends of our church with listening, prayers, and care.
This will be a small 2 hour training for those who are interested in learning more about care ministry through lay pastoral care. If you are interested in learning more, let Pastor know!
American Red Cross Blood Drive
Every time you donate blood you help save a life. Sound extreme? Not to the patients whose lives have been saved through the efforts of blood donors. The need for blood during the holiday season increases. To help Bethany Lutheran is hosting a blood drive on Friday, November 30th from 10-3. Juice, cookies and a light lunch will be provided to donors. Can’t donate blood? How about volunteering by baking cookies, donating hotdogs, buns, juice or chips? Invite your friends and neighbors? There are many ways to be a hero. If you need information call Kim. Schedule your appointment at https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive or call the church office and Kim will sign you up.
Bethany Lutheran Book Club!
Reading is fundamental! And it’s an important part of our growing as disciples of Christ. Through September we read “Grateful” by Christian author Diana Butler Bass! Join us on December 1st at 1pm at Bethany for a Book Club potluck as we discuss the book! Contact Pastor Megan for more information!
2018-2019 Reading list available and signup on the blue & purple bulletin board in the church hallway.
