Pastor’s Letter
“Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” ~Psalm 107:8-9
Thanksgiving
I wrote and rewrote this letter several times as I thought about this upcoming month, about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and all the gratitude and hope I have experienced in this last month.
God’s Fingerprints
As we began serving with Family Promise, continue to serve with FISH, I’ve been giving thanks for the new beginnings in our youth ministry with Sprouts and confirmation. My heart is so full to hear of so many of our members who attended or want to support the Ministerial Association’s work to provide warm shelter during weather emergencies.
There are so many things happening within our congregation and within our community that have God’s fingerprints all over them.
Praising God
And so I just want to lift my thanks and praise to God for all the incredible gifts God gives to us, I just want to sing my thanksgiving to God for each of you. And so I’ll share with you all one of my favorite thanksgiving worship songs:
Give thanks with a grateful heart, Give thanks to the Holy One.
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son.
And now let the weak say “I am strong”.
Let the poor say “I am rich”,
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
