On Reformation Sunday every year we celebrate the anniversary of Martin Luther nailing his 95 thesis to the door of the Wittenberg church.  Each year we gather together with our fellow ELCA churches in our area for a joint worship at Trinity Lutheran Church in Longview! We join together for worship at 10:30am followed by a potluck lunch afterwards. We will not have regular worship at Bethany that day.

Join the ELCA Lower Columbia Conference of Churches (Bethany Lutheran, Gloria Dei Lutheran, Stella Lutheran Chapel, St Paul Lutheran, Trinity Lutheran, and Faith Lutheran – Clatskanie) for this joint worship service of thanksgiving and prayer followed by a pie social. Bring your favorite pie and join us as we give thanks for our community and for the love and grace God had given to each and every one of us!

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service – Join us for this meditative and refreshing worship modeled after our monthly Wednesday Worship Service, The Garden. Candlelight will light our songs as we celebrate together the birth of our Lord. Worship begins at 5:00pm

Christmas Day Celebration Worship Service – Join us for this worship of celebration as we sing Christmas carols, pray, and rejoice for the birth of our Lord and Savior! Bring your leftover Christmas cookies for our post-worship mini-coffee hour! Worship begins at 9:30am

During the 40 days (not including Sundays) leading up to Easter, our church observes the season of Lent. This season begins with Ash Wednesday and continues all the way to Good Friday.

Throughout this season we meet for Wednesday evening soup dinner, and worship beginning at 6:00pm.

Holy Week

We celebrate Palm Sunday together during our 9:30am Sunday worship the Sunday before Easter, beginning our observance of Holy Week.

On Maundy Thursday at 5pm we join together with Stella Lutheran Chapel for a service of full communion and hand/feet washing in remembrance of Jesus’s grace and service for the world.

On Good Friday, at 7:00pm Bethany hosts an evening worship service with Gloria Dei Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Church at Bethany Lutheran. Together we pray around the cross, and remember Jesus’s death, looking with hope towards Easter Sunday.

Also in recent years Bethany Lutheran has participated in the 12pm community worship service hosted by the Kelso-Longview Ministerial Association. This year we will be joining together at Longview Community Church for worship.
